Dr. Chris Lemon

Dr. Chris Lemon brings his experience in emergency medicine and pediatrics to the forefront of planetary health. His work during the COVID-19 pandemic deepened his understanding of how global crises disrupt healthcare and mirror broader environmental challenges. At Johns Hopkins, he leads efforts to integrate clinical voices into the planetary health dialogue—advancing education, sustainability, and resilience in healthcare systems.Chris is a Bloomberg American Health Initiative Fellow, pursuing an MPH with a focus on environmental challenges. He co-chairs the JHU Working Group on Healthcare Sustainability, serves on the Sustainability Leadership Council, and contributes to the National Academy of Medicine’s Action Collaborative on decarbonizing U.S. healthcare. Having received several awards in teaching and mentorship by the Hopkins emergency medicine residents, he’s passionate about helping future clinicians align their professional paths with a deeper mission: healing both people and the planet.
